The Highest Peak

The first mountain I brought down to its knees was Mt Tuka. It is a mediocre mountain located in Kiamba, Philippines. It wasn't even a thousand feet high. But for a six year old lost with his scout patrol of eight for a a night a better half of a day with no food, water and any equipment except for two cans of crushed pineapple, a kitchen knife and a lensatic compass... it was Mt. Everest for all I know.

Five mountains later... here I am still yearning for the great al fresco. Mt. Apo is the highest peak in the Philippines. It is the mountain every mountaineer a.k.a mountain man should climb. Don't get me wrong. I am not a mountain man. Some people consider me as their resident geek although I don't really know the difference between a typewriter and a keyboard. But geek or not, I dearly wanted Mt. Apo to be another scalp for my belt.

So in comes this hub. It basically lists the things I(we) know and did before conquering the highest peak in the Philippines.

(new topics posted as they come hot from the press... :-))
